Band 5+: The advantages and disadvantages of face-to-face communication vs. online communication

We have two types of communication. They are face-to-face communication and online communication. Obviously, both of them have own advantages and disadvantages.

I think face-to-face communication is more popular among older people. Because, you can interact with others and see their real emotions during the communication. Next main advantage is explaining things clearly. In face-to-face communication, you are able to explain our thoughts clearly, and your partners understand it properly. However, it has several disadvantages. For face-to-face communication, you have to meet and sometimes it may take your time. If you don’t like to socialize with other people, then it is not for you. You will be bored from interaction with humans.

What about online communication? It is modern type of communication and popular between younger generation. If you don’t want to commute to anywhere, then this type of communication is for you. You are able to be in touch with anyone despite where you are. You don’t waste your time to reach the destination. Nowadays, we can communicate with our friends on any platforms and social media. It means that online communication is available anywhere, and comfortable rather than face-to-face communication. There are some drawbacks in online communication. You always need to have internet to interact through the mobile phone or computer. In addition, sometimes you can’t feel a real atmosphere of communication.

In conclusion, I think both of them are unique despite their benefits and drawbacks. We can acquaint with anyone and anywhere with these types of communication.
